Depeche Mode is a British electronic music band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The band's original lineup consisted of Dave Gahan (vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals), Andy Fletcher (keyboards), and Vince Clarke (keyboards, guitar). Depeche Mode quickly rose to fame in the 1980s with their unique blend of synth-pop, new wave, and electronic music. They are known for their dark and atmospheric sound, as well as their introspective lyrics.
