Depeche Mode is a British electronic music band formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. The band consists of core members Dave Gahan (vocals), Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, vocals), and Andy Fletcher (keyboards). Initially, Depeche Mode was part of the new wave and synth-pop movements in the early 1980s but later transitioned to a more alternative rock sound with elements of electronic music.
Depeche Mode has released a total of 14 studio albums, with their most successful ones including "Violator" (1990) and "Songs of Faith and Devotion" (1993). They are known for their dark and introspective lyrics, as well as their innovative use of synthesizers and electronic sounds. Depeche Mode has achieved commercial success worldwide, selling over 100 million records and winning numerous awards, including a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album. They have a dedicated fan base and continue to tour and release new music.
