Artist Bio:
The Detroit Emeralds were an American R&B/soul vocal group formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1968. The group's members included Ivory Tilmon, James Mitchell, and Abrim Tilmon. They are best known for their hits in the 1970s, including "Feel the Need in Me" and "You Want It, You Got It". "Feel the Need in Me" reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1972 and became one of their most successful songs.
The Detroit Emeralds were signed to the Westbound record label and were known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound. They continued to release music throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s, but never quite reached the same level of success as their earlier hits. Despite their relatively short time in the spotlight, the Detroit Emeralds left a lasting impact on the R&B and soul music scene with their catchy tunes and soulful vocals.
