Artist Bio:
The Detroit Emeralds were an American R&B/soul vocal group formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in the late 1960s. The original members included Ivory "Ivory" Tilmon, James Mitchell, and Abrim "Abe" Tilmon. The group moved to Detroit, Michigan where they gained popularity in the early 1970s with hits such as "Do Me Right" and "You Want It, You Got It".

Their biggest success came in 1972 with the release of their hit single "Feel the Need in Me", which reached number 4 on the Billboard R&B chart and number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Detroit Emeralds continued to record and perform throughout the 1970s and 1980s, although with changing lineups. They are remembered for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, and their music continues to be enjoyed by fans of classic R&B and soul music.
