Artist Bio:
The Detroit Emeralds were an American R&B vocal group, best known for their hits in the early 1970s. The group was formed in Little Rock, Arkansas, in the late 1960s, and consisted of four members: Ivory "Ivory" Tilmon, James Mitchell, and brothers Abrim, and Cleophus Tilmon. They signed with Westbound Records in 1971 and released their debut album, "Do Me Right," which included the hit single "Do Me Right." The Detroit Emeralds gained popularity for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, often compared to other R&B groups of the era like The Temptations and The Four Tops.

Their biggest hit came in 1972 with the song "Feel the Need in Me," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard R&B chart and became their signature song. The group continued to release music throughout the 1970s but never achieved the same level of success as their early hits. The Detroit Emeralds' music has endured over the years and remains popular among fans of classic R&B and soul music.
