Devo is an American rock band formed in Akron, Ohio in 1972. The band consists of members Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald Casale, Bob Mothersbaugh, Bob Casale, and Alan Myers. Devo gained popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s for their unique sound, quirky lyrics, and eccentric style. They are often associated with the new wave and post-punk music movements.


Devo is best known for their hit songs "Whip It" and "Jocko Homo." The band's music often incorporates electronic elements and satirical lyrics that critique aspects of society, technology, and popular culture. Devo has released several albums throughout their career and continues to perform live shows to this day, maintaining a dedicated fan base.
