Dick Dale, born Richard Anthony Monsour, was an American musician known as the "King of the Surf Guitar." He was a pioneer of surf rock music and is credited with developing the surf music style in the early 1960s. The Del-Tones were the backing band for Dick Dale, formed in the late 1950s. They played a significant role in shaping the surf rock genre and were known for their high-energy performances. Together, Dick Dale and The Del-Tones released several successful albums and singles, with their most famous song being "Misirlou." Dick Dale and The Del-Tones were instrumental in popularizing surf rock music and remain influential figures in the history of rock and roll.
