Artist Bio:
Dick Dale, born Richard Anthony Monsour in 1937, was an American rock guitarist known as the "King of the Surf Guitar." He is best known for pioneering the surf music style in the early 1960s, characterized by reverb-heavy electric guitar playing that mimicked the sound of crashing waves. Dale's energetic and innovative guitar playing, often incorporating Middle Eastern influences, helped define the surf rock genre. He released numerous albums throughout his career and was known for his electrifying live performances.

The Del-Tones were the backing band for Dick Dale, initially formed in the late 1950s. The band consisted of various musicians over the years, but Dale was the consistent frontman and lead guitarist. The Del-Tones played a crucial role in creating Dale's distinctive surf rock sound, providing the rhythm and backing that complemented his dynamic guitar playing. Together, Dick Dale and The Del-Tones achieved success with hits like "Let's Go Trippin'" and "Misirlou," leaving a lasting impact on the surf rock genre.
