Artist Bio:
Dickie Goodman (1934-1989) was an American music producer and songwriter known for his novelty songs that used the technique of sampling to create comedic and satirical recordings. He is considered a pioneer of the "break-in" genre, where snippets of popular songs are spliced together with humorous dialogue to tell a story. Goodman's most famous work is the 1956 single "The Flying Saucer," credited to Buchanan and Goodman, which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He went on to produce a series of successful follow-up singles using the same style, including "The Touchables" and "Batman and His Grandmother."

Goodman's unique approach to music production influenced later artists and comedians, and his work has been sampled and referenced in various forms of media over the years. Despite facing some controversy and legal challenges for his use of copyrighted material, Goodman's innovative use of sampling and storytelling in music has left a lasting impact on the entertainment industry.
