Artist Bio:
Dickie Goodman was an American music and record producer known for his novelty songs featuring "break-in" style recordings. Born on April 19, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, Goodman gained popularity in the 1950s and 1960s for his unique style of creating songs by splicing together snippets of popular hits with fictional interviews and comedic dialogue. His most famous work is the 1956 single "The Flying Saucer," which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Goodman continued to release novelty records throughout the 1960s and 1970s, often collaborating with fellow producer Bill Buchanan. Some of his other well-known songs include "Mr. Jaws" and "Energy Crisis '74." Despite facing criticism for his unconventional approach to music production, Goodman's break-in records were embraced by audiences for their humor and creativity. He passed away on November 6, 1989, leaving behind a legacy as a pioneer in the field of novelty music.
