Dinah Washington, born Ruth Lee Jones in 1924, was an American singer and pianist who was known for her powerful voice and versatile singing style. She started performing in church choirs and later began her professional singing career in the 1940s. Washington became well-known for her performances in jazz, blues, R&B, and pop music genres.


Throughout her career, Dinah Washington released numerous hit songs, including "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes" and "Unforgettable." She was also the recipient of multiple Grammy Awards for her contributions to music. Washington's unique vocal abilities and emotional delivery left a lasting impact on the music industry, and she is often referred to as the "Queen of the Blues." Sadly, Dinah Washington passed away in 1963 at the age of 39, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most influential and talented singers of her time.
