Washington began her music career in the 1940s and achieved major success in the 1950s and 1960s with hits like "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes" and "Unforgettable."


Washington was a pioneering artist in the music industry, becoming one of the first African-American women to achieve mainstream success as a solo artist. She won a Grammy Award in 1959 for Best Rhythm & Blues Performance for her album "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes." Despite her untimely death at the age of 39 in 1963, Dinah Washington left a lasting legacy as one of the most influential and acclaimed singers of her time.
