Dion DiMucci, known professionally as Dion, is an American singer and songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Born on July 18, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, Dion started his music career as the lead singer of the doo-wop group Dion and the Belmonts. The group achieved chart success with hits like "A Teenager in Love" and "Where or When."
After going solo in the early 1960s, Dion continued to find success with singles such as "Runaround Sue" and "The Wanderer." Known for his soulful voice and rock and roll style, Dion has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. Over the course of his career, he has released numerous albums and continues to perform and record music to this day.
