Born on December 12, 1940, in East Orange, New Jersey, Warwick began her music career at a young age, singing gospel music in church. She found success as a solo artist in the 1960s with hits like "Walk on By," "I Say a Little Prayer," and "Do You Know the Way to San Jose."


Warwick's unique vocal style, characterized by her smooth and soulful voice, helped her become one of the most successful female artists of her time. Over the course of her career, she has won five Grammy Awards and sold over 100 million records worldwide. In addition to her music career, Warwick has also acted in films and television shows, and she hosted her own talk show, "Solid Gold," in the 1980s.
