DJ Quik, whose real name is David Marvin Blake, is an American rapper, DJ, and record producer who emerged from Compton, California. He began his career in the late 1980s and is known for his innovative production style that fuses G-funk and West Coast hip-hop. DJ Quik released his debut album, "Quik Is the Name," in 1991, which was well-received and helped establish him as a prominent figure in the hip-hop scene.
