DMX, born Earl Simmons on December 18, 1970, was an American rapper and actor known for his raw and aggressive style of rapping. He rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with hit songs like "Party Up (Up in Here)" and "Ruff Ryders' Anthem." DMX released several successful albums, including his debut "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" in 1998, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.


Aside from his music career, DMX also ventured into acting, appearing in films such as "Belly" and "Romeo Must Die." Despite his success, DMX faced legal troubles and struggled with addiction throughout his life. He was known for his spiritual and introspective lyrics, often touching on themes of struggle, pain, and redemption. DMX passed away on April 9, 2021, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most iconic and influential figures in hip-hop.
