Donald Fagen is an American musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the co-founder and lead singer of the band Steely Dan. Born on January 10, 1948, in Passaic, New Jersey, Fagen is known for his distinctive voice and jazz-influenced piano playing. He formed Steely Dan in 1972 with guitarist Walter Becker, and the band went on to achieve critical and commercial success with hits such as "Reelin' in the Years," "Rikki Don't Lose That Number," and "Do It Again."
Fagen has also released several solo albums, including "The Nightfly," "Kamakiriad," and "Morph the Cat." He has won multiple Grammy Awards both as a member of Steely Dan and as a solo artist. Fagen's music is characterized by its complex arrangements, witty lyrics, and fusion of rock, jazz, and R&B influences.
