Donny Hathaway was an American soul and gospel singer, songwriter, arranger, and pianist, born on October 1, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. He is best known for his powerful and emotive vocal performances, as well as his collaborations with other artists such as Roberta Flack. Hathaway released several successful albums during the 1970s, including "Everything is Everything" and "Extension of a Man." Tragically, he struggled with mental health issues throughout his life and passed away on January 13, 1979, at the age of 33.
June Conquest was an American soul singer who worked closely with Donny Hathaway early in her career. She recorded the single "Almost Persuaded" with Hathaway in 1964, which was released by Curtom Records. Conquest also collaborated with other artists such as Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions. While she did not achieve the same level of mainstream success as some of her contemporaries, Conquest made significant contributions to the soul music genre during the 1960s and 1970s.
