Artist Bio:
Dr. Hook was an American rock band formed in Union City, New Jersey in 1968. The group was originally called Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, later shortening their name to just Dr. Hook. The band achieved commercial success in the 1970s with hits such as "Sylvia's Mother," "Cover of the Rolling Stone," and "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman." Their music was characterized by a mix of rock, country, and pop influences, and they were known for their humorous and sometimes risqué lyrics.
Dr. Hook disbanded in 1985, but several members continued to perform together under the name Dr. Hook featuring Ray Sawyer, after the band's original lead vocalist. Dr. Hook's music continues to be popular with fans of 1970s rock, and they are remembered as one of the iconic bands of that era.
