Eddy rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s with a series of instrumental hits that showcased his distinctive guitar style, characterized by a deep, reverberant sound and melodic, twangy riffs.
Eddy's biggest hit, "Rebel Rouser," reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1958. He continued to have success with tracks like "Peter Gunn," "Forty Miles of Bad Road," and "Because They're Young." Eddy's innovative guitar techniques, such as the use of echo and vibrato effects, have had a lasting impact on rock music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and continues to perform and record music to this day.
