The band's biggest hit was "Funky Broadway," which reached the top of the R&B charts in 1967. They were also known for songs like "We Got More Soul" and "Let a Woman Be a Woman - Let a Man Be a Man."

Dyke and the Blazers were one of the first groups to combine the raw energy of R&B with the tight grooves of funk, helping to pave the way for the funk music that would become popular in the 1970s. Despite their influence on the genre, the band's success was short-lived, and they disbanded in the early 1970s.
