Earl Grant was an American musician known for his skills as a pianist and vocalist. Born on January 20, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Grant began his musical career in the 1950s and quickly gained popularity for his unique blend of jazz, swing, and pop music. He was also proficient in playing the organ and was often referred to as the "King of the Hammond Organ."
Grant's biggest hit came in 1961 with the song "Ebb Tide," which reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He continued to release successful albums and singles throughout the 1960s, showcasing his smooth vocals and impressive piano skills. Tragically, Grant's life was cut short when he died in a car accident on June 10, 1970, at the age of 39. Despite his untimely death, Earl Grant's music continues to be celebrated by fans of easy listening and jazz.
