Earl Grant was an American musician and singer who was born on January 20, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was known for his skills as a pianist, organist, and vocalist, and was particularly recognized for his ability to blend different genres such as jazz, pop, and rhythm and blues.


Grant began his professional music career in the 1950s, and he achieved mainstream success with hits like "The End" and "Ebb Tide." He was also the first African-American musician to have a million-selling single with his rendition of "The End." Grant's talent and versatility as a musician earned him a loyal following and a successful career in the music industry until his tragic death in a car accident on June 10, 1970, at the age of 39.
