Jackson later pursued a solo career and signed with the Stone and Mustang record labels.
In 1976, Earnest Jackson released his debut album titled "Love and Happiness" which featured the popular tracks "Funky Black Man" and "Hogwash." He continued to release music throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, with his music showcasing his soulful voice and energetic performances.
