Earth, Wind & Fire is an American band that was formed in Chicago in 1969. The group was founded by Maurice White and originally consisted of seven members playing a mix of R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco, pop, rock, dance, Latin, and African music. Earth, Wind & Fire are known for their extravagant live performances, intricate musical arrangements, and diverse musical style. They have released numerous hit songs, including "September", "Boogie Wonderland", and "Shining Star".
The band has won several awards, including six Grammys, four American Music Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Earth, Wind & Fire have sold over 90 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000 and continue to tour and perform to this day.
