Ed Ames is an American singer and actor born on July 9, 1927, in Malden, Massachusetts. He gained fame as the lead singer of the 1960s pop group, The Ames Brothers, known for hits like "Rag Mop" and "You, You, You." In addition to his success with the group, Ames also had a successful solo career as a pop and adult contemporary artist, releasing several albums and singles throughout the 1960s and 1970s.


Ames also found success as an actor, appearing in various television shows and films. He is perhaps best known for his role as Mingo in the popular 1960s television series, "Daniel Boone." Throughout his career, Ed Ames won several awards, including a Golden Globe Award for his role in "Daniel Boone." Ames continues to be remembered for his contributions to both the music and entertainment industries.
