Eddie Hodges is an American actor and singer who was born on March 5, 1947, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He rose to fame in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a child actor and singer. Hodges made his Broadway debut in the musical "The Music Man" in 1957, where he originated the role of Winthrop Paroo. He received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the musical.
In addition to his work on Broadway, Hodges also had a successful recording career. He is best known for his hit single "I'm Gonna Knock on Your Door," which reached number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. Throughout his career, Hodges appeared in a number of films and television shows, including "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "A Hole in the Head." Despite his early success, Hodges eventually shifted his focus away from acting and music to pursue other interests.
