Artist Bio:
Eddie Holland is an American singer and songwriter who was born on October 30, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. He is best known for his work as part of the Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting and production team, along with his brother Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier. The trio were responsible for writing and producing many hit songs for Motown artists in the 1960s, including "Heat Wave" by Martha and the Vandellas and "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes.
In addition to his songwriting success, Eddie Holland also pursued a solo singing career in the early 1960s. He released several singles as a solo artist, including "Jamie" and "Leaving Here." While his solo career did not achieve the same level of success as his songwriting endeavors, Eddie Holland's contributions to the Motown sound have solidified his place in music history.
