Eddie Holland is an American singer and songwriter who was born on October 30, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan. He is best known for his work as part of the iconic Motown songwriting and production team HollandΓÇôDozierΓÇôHolland, which also included Lamont Dozier and his brother Brian Holland. The trio played a significant role in shaping the sound of Motown during the 1960s, writing and producing numerous hit songs for artists like The Supremes, The Four Tops, and Marvin Gaye.


Eddie Holland's contributions to the Motown sound include co-writing classic hits such as "Heat Wave" by Martha and the Vandellas, "Stop! In the Name of Love" by The Supremes, and "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)" by Marvin Gaye. His work with Holland-Dozier-Holland helped define the Motown sound and played a crucial role in the success of many Motown artists during the label's golden era.
