Eddie Kendricks, born in 1939 in Alabama, was an American singer and songwriter best known for his time as one of the lead vocalists of the iconic Motown group The Temptations. Kendricks' smooth falsetto voice was a key element of The Temptations' sound, contributing to many of their hit songs. After leaving the group in 1971, Kendricks embarked on a successful solo career, releasing a string of R&B hits including "Boogie Down." Kendricks' soulful voice and charismatic stage presence made him a beloved figure in the world of R&B music. He continued to record and perform until his death in 1992.
