Artist Bio:
Eddie Kendricks was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his time as the lead vocalist of the legendary soul group The Temptations. Born on December 17, 1939, in Union Springs, Alabama, Kendricks was known for his distinctive falsetto voice, which became a signature element of The Temptations' sound. He was a member of the group from its formation in 1960 until 1971, during which time they achieved numerous hits and critical acclaim.


After leaving The Temptations, Kendricks embarked on a successful solo career, releasing several albums and scoring hits with songs like "Keep On Truckin'" and "Boogie Down." He continued to influence and inspire artists with his smooth vocals and charismatic stage presence. Eddie Kendricks was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 as a member of The Temptations, recognizing his significant contributions to the music industry. Tragically, he passed away on October 5, 1992, due to lung cancer.
