Eddie Kendricks, born Edward James Kendrick, was an American singer and songwriter best known for his time as the lead vocalist of the popular Motown group The Temptations. He was born on December 17, 1939, in Union Springs, Alabama, and passed away on October 5, 1992, in Birmingham, Alabama. Kendricks' smooth falsetto vocals were a key element in The Temptations' success, contributing to hits like "My Girl" and "Get Ready."


After leaving The Temptations in 1971, Kendricks pursued a successful solo career and released several albums. One of his most notable solo hits was "Keep On Truckin'," which topped the charts in 1973. Kendricks' music is recognized for its soulful sound and infectious energy, solidifying his status as a legendary figure in the world of soul and R&B music.
