Eddie Money, born Edward Joseph Mahoney on March 21, 1949, was an American rock musician known for his hits in the 1970s and 1980s. He began his music career in the late 1960s as a member of various rock bands before launching his solo career in 1977. Money's self-titled debut album was released in 1977 and included the hit single "Two Tickets to Paradise." He went on to release several successful albums, including "Life for the Taking" and "No Control," which contained popular songs like "Baby Hold On" and "Shakin'."
Throughout his career, Eddie Money had 11 songs reach the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with several of them becoming radio staples and fan favorites. He was known for his raspy voice, energetic stage presence, and catchy rock tunes. Money continued to perform and tour until his passing on September 13, 2019, due to complications from heart valve surgery.
