Eddy Grant is a Guyanese-British musician and songwriter, born on March 5, 1948, in Plaisance, British Guiana (now Guyana). He is known for his successful solo career as well as being a founding member of the band The Equals. Grant gained international fame in the 1980s with his hit songs "Electric Avenue" and "I Don't Wanna Dance", which topped the charts in various countries.
Aside from his music career, Grant is also a producer and owner of the label Ice Records. He is known for incorporating elements of reggae, rock, and pop into his music, creating a unique sound that has resonated with audiences worldwide. Grant continues to perform and release music, with a career that spans several decades and has earned him a place in the music industry as a respected artist.
