Edie Brickell & New Bohemians is an American alternative rock band formed in Dallas, Texas in the mid-1980s. The band consists of vocalist Edie Brickell, guitarist Kenny Withrow, drummer Brandon Aly, bassist Brad Houser, and percussionist John Bush. They gained mainstream popularity with their debut album, "Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars," released in 1988. The album featured their hit single "What I Am," which peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
After a hiatus, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians reunited in the late 2000s and released their fourth studio album, "Rocket," in 2018. Known for their eclectic mix of musical styles, including folk, rock, and jazz, the band's music is characterized by Edie Brickell's distinctive vocals and introspective lyrics. They continue to tour and perform, showcasing their unique sound to audiences around the world.
