Elastica was a British alternative rock band formed in London in 1992. The band consisted of members Justine Frischmann (vocals, guitar), Donna Matthews (guitar), Annie Holland (bass), and Justin Welch (drums). They were part of the Britpop movement in the 1990s and were known for their catchy hooks, punk-inspired sound, and energetic live performances.
Elastica released their self-titled debut album in 1995, which was well-received by critics and fans alike. The album featured hit singles such as "Connection" and "Stutter" and helped the band gain international success. Despite their initial popularity, Elastica disbanded in 2001 after releasing just two albums. Justine Frischmann went on to pursue a career in visual art, while other members pursued various musical projects.
