Artist Bio:
Electronic is an English alternative dance supergroup formed in 1988 by Bernard Sumner of New Order and Johnny Marr of The Smiths, with guest appearances by Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys. The band released their debut album, "Electronic," in 1991, which featured the hit single "Getting Away with It." They followed up with "Raise the Pressure" in 1996, which included the singles "Forbidden City" and "For You." Electronic's sound blends elements of synth-pop, alternative rock, and dance music, creating a unique and innovative sound that has garnered them a dedicated fan base.
Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as their individual members' main bands, Electronic has been praised by critics for their experimentation with electronic and dance music. The band went on hiatus in the late 1990s, with Sumner and Marr focusing on their respective solo projects. However, they reunited for live performances in the early 2000s and have continued to collaborate sporadically over the years, keeping their music alive for both longtime fans and new listeners.
