Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, is a British singer, songwriter, and pianist. He rose to fame in the 1970s with his flamboyant stage presence and catchy pop tunes. With over 300 million records sold, he is one of the best-selling music artists in the world. Some of his most popular songs include "Your Song," "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," and "Candle in the Wind."


Known for his eclectic style and extravagant costumes, Elton John has won multiple Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for his services to music and charity work, particularly in the fight against AIDS. In addition to his music career, Elton John is also an active philanthropist, founding the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 to support HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs.
