Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, is a British singer, songwriter, and pianist. He has sold over 300 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. John has had numerous hit singles, including "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," and "Candle in the Wind." He is known for his flamboyant stage presence and elaborate costumes during his performances.


In addition to his successful music career, Elton John is also known for his philanthropic efforts. He established the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992, which aims to support innovative HIV prevention programs, eliminate stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, and provide care and support services for people living with the disease. John was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for his contributions to music and philanthropy.
