Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has sold over 300 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. John's career spans over five decades, during which he has released numerous hit songs such as "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," and "Candle in the Wind."


Known for his flamboyant style and energetic live performances, Elton John has won multiple Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for his services to music and charitable work. In addition to his music career, John is also a prominent philanthropist, particularly in the fight against AIDS through his Elton John AIDS Foundation, which he founded in 1992.
