Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, is a British singer, songwriter, and pianist. He has sold over 300 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. John has released numerous hit songs, including "Rocket Man," "Bennie and the Jets," "Tiny Dancer," and "Candle in the Wind."


Known for his flamboyant style and stage presence, Elton John has won multiple Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for his services to music and charity work. In addition to his music career, John is also a prominent philanthropist, raising millions of dollars for HIV/AIDS research and other charitable causes through his Elton John AIDS Foundation.
