Elton John, born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on March 25, 1947, is an English singer, songwriter, and pianist who has had a career spanning over five decades. He is known for his flamboyant stage presence and hit songs such as "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," and "Candle in the Wind." John has sold over 300 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.


Throughout his career, Elton John has won multiple Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from Disney's The Lion King. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998 for his contributions to music and charity work.
