Eric Burdon & The Animals were a British rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in the early 1960s. The band's most famous lineup consisted of Eric Burdon (vocals), Alan Price (keyboards), Hilton Valentine (guitar), Chas Chandler (bass), and John Steel (drums). They were known for their raw and energetic sound, blending rhythm and blues with rock and roll influences.
The band achieved commercial success with hits such as "The House of the Rising Sun," "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," and "We Gotta Get Out of This Place." Eric Burdon & The Animals were a significant part of the British Invasion in the United States during the 1960s. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Burdon continues to perform with a new lineup of The Animals, keeping the band's legacy alive.
