Erma Franklin was an American singer known for her soulful and powerful voice. She was born on March 13, 1938, in Shelby, Mississippi, and was the older sister of the legendary singer Aretha Franklin. Erma began her music career in the 1950s and gained popularity in the 1960s with hits such as "Piece of My Heart" and "Baby, What You Want Me to Do."


Erma Franklin was signed to Epic Records and released several singles and albums throughout her career. She was highly respected in the music industry for her soulful vocals and emotional delivery. Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as her sister Aretha, Erma Franklin left a lasting impact on the music world with her powerful voice and soulful performances. She passed away on September 7, 2002, at the age of 64.
