Artist Bio:
Ernie K-Doe was an American rhythm and blues singer born as Ernest Kador Jr. on February 22, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is best known for his 1961 hit song "Mother-in-Law," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became his signature song. K-Doe's unique vocal style and energetic performances earned him the nickname "Emperor of the Universe" in the music scene.

Despite the success of "Mother-in-Law," K-Doe struggled to achieve further chart success and eventually faded from the mainstream music scene. However, he remained a beloved figure in New Orleans, where he continued to perform in local clubs and festivals. Ernie K-Doe was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2010 in recognition of his contributions to the music industry. He passed away on July 5, 2001, but his music and legacy continue to be celebrated by fans of rhythm and blues music.
