James was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and received six Grammy Awards throughout her career, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. She struggled with drug addiction and personal challenges but continued to perform and record music until her death on January 20, 2012. Etta James left a lasting legacy as a legendary singer with a distinctive voice and a significant influence on the music industry.
