Evelyn King, also known as Evelyn "Champagne" King, is an American singer who rose to fame in the late 1970s and 1980s. She was born on July 1, 1960, in The Bronx, New York. King's music style is predominantly disco and R&B, with hits such as "Shame," "Love Come Down," and "I'm in Love." She was discovered as a teenager and signed her first record deal with RCA Records in 1977.


Evelyn King's self-titled debut album was released in 1977, and she achieved commercial success with her second album, "Smooth Talk," in 1978.
