Fairground Attraction was a Scottish folk and soft rock band formed in 1987. The band was fronted by singer-songwriter Eddi Reader and also included Mark Nevin on guitar, Simon Edwards on bass, and Roy Dodds on drums. Fairground Attraction is best known for their hit single "Perfect," which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in 1988. The song also won the Brit Award for Best British Single in 1989.
In addition to "Perfect," Fairground Attraction released one studio album titled "The First of a Million Kisses" in 1988. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike, showcasing the band's unique blend of folk, pop, and rock influences. Despite their early success, Fairground Attraction disbanded in 1990 after releasing only one album. Eddi Reader went on to have a successful solo career, while the other band members pursued various musical projects.
