Artist Bio:
Fanny was an American rock band formed in 1970, often considered one of the first all-female rock bands to achieve critical and commercial success. The band was composed of June Millington on guitar, Jean Millington on bass, Alice de Buhr on drums, and Nickey Barclay on keyboards. Fanny released five studio albums between 1970 and 1974, with their self-titled debut album being their most successful, reaching number 27 on the Billboard 200 chart. They were known for their tight musicianship and vocal harmonies, blending rock, pop, and blues influences in their music.
Fanny faced challenges in the male-dominated music industry but broke barriers for women in rock music. They toured with high-profile acts like Slade and Jethro Tull, gaining a loyal fan base. Despite their pioneering role in rock music, Fanny disbanded in 1975. However, their music has experienced a resurgence in popularity in recent years, with a renewed recognition of their contributions to rock history.
