June and Jean Millington were sisters of Filipino descent, while Alice de Buhr and Nickey Barclay were of European descent.
Fanny released five studio albums between 1970 and 1974, with their self-titled debut album being the most successful, reaching number 27 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band was known for their impressive musicianship and powerful rock sound. Fanny's music was well-received by critics and they gained a dedicated fan base. Despite their success, Fanny faced challenges in a male-dominated industry.
